Family History Facebook Group

Family history can be incredibly intimidating! Today, we are here to tell you that WE want to help! Camille from @themommygenealogist is our Facebook lady and she is going to be heading up a FREE Facebook Support Group. In the support group, you will have the opportunity to ask questions and get help from Camille, the whole Season for Family Team and other members of the group. This is a space where you will be able to openly ask questions, help each other, celebrate victories, and just get to know each other better!
But seriously, if you are feeling intimidated by family history… the truth is, you are probably already involved in family history work and don’t even realize it!
Do you take photos of your children and post them on Social Media, write in a journal, bake your Grandmother’s favorite cookie recipe, share stories of your childhood with your children? If you answered yes to any of those things or something similar, you ARE doing family history!
We are not suggesting you stop there and call it good. We only suggest that you start a NEW family history journey by first, GIVING YOURSELF CREDIT for the work you already do! A positive outlook on family history, is a first step to qualify for the real, tangible blessings that come from INTENTIONALLY participating in family history work. If you can have a more positive view toward this work, it WILL become easier.
Whatever you do, don’t feel discouraged! Don’t feel overwhelmed! Together, we can figure out where we are INDIVIDUALLY needed in this work. Believe it or not, we are not all meant to be grave hunting, census finding, genealogists! There is a place for YOU in this family history world that you will LOVE, we promise!

The Hand of God- Yongsung Kim

Now tell us, what kind of family history do you ALREADY do? Share in the comments, let’s celebrate that! And don’t forget to join our new Facebook Group! Come introduce yourself! Find us at: facebook.com/groups/seasonforfamily

Carolynn

Meet Carolynn.

She is my Grandmother & died many years before I was born. I am lucky enough to be her namesake. She came to me & gave me hope when l felt like giving up. I can’t describe it, & have a difficult time putting it into words, but she is there for me. She has answered my prayers, cried with me, smiled with me & cheered me on.

I spent 26 years of my life sitting on the sidelines of family history. It wasn’t until I made the choice to give it a try, that things started to change for me. Within that very first year of doing family history work, little by little I noticed the blessings that came.

Carolynn was the first memorable blessing that came from my family history efforts. She visited me, comforted me and answered a desperate prayer. Everyone needs a Carolynn, a guardian angel.

If I could give any advice, it would be to let go of your fears that come with the phrase “family history”. It can look different for you than it looks for me. It is an extremely personal journey. Ask in faith where you are needed and what can fit into your season. You may even find a guardian angel to help. . .

Today I shared a connection with one of my ancestors, but we also want to hear about your connections! If you are interested in sharing, visit seasonforfamily.com/share and submit your story.

Let’s inspire each other ➳ #selfiewithanancestor #seasonforfamilystories Do you believe in guardian angels? Tell me in the comments below.

Roses

“Fer the world is full of roses
And the roses full of dew,
And the dew is full of heavenly love That drips fer me and you.”
— James Whitcomb Riley (1907)

I love roses, because they remind me of my grandmother. She had so many rose bushes and she tended to them like they were her children.
